Sean Warren, Owner
Sean Warren’s path to tech entrepreneurship began far from Chesnee, South Carolina, his current home, with roots that trace back to the islands of Hawaii. Since founding Beowulf Technologies in August 2007, Sean and his business parter John Osburn have built a business grounded in genuine curiosity for how things work and a drive to help others navigate an increasingly complex digital world.
A self-described tech enthusiast through and through, Sean stays immersed in everything from emerging hardware to the latest software innovations, bringing that
same hands-on passion to every client project. When he’s not running Beowulf Technologies, you’ll likely find him deep in a DC Comics storyline, trading the world of circuits and servers for capes and Gotham City skylines.
Outside of work, Sean’s proudest role is as a father to his son and daughter, who keep him grounded and remind him daily why building something lasting matters.
Based in Boiling Springs, SC, Sean and the team at Beowulf Technologies are committed to bringing the same care to local businesses that he brings to his own family and passions.
John Osburn, Partner
John’s introduction to computing came in 1965, when he sat down for his first computer class at the brand-new University of California, Irvine. Computer science was barely a discipline, mainframes filled entire rooms, and personal computers were still science fiction. He’s been at the leading edge of technology ever since.
After a year at UCI, John enlisted in the United States Navy, where he spent the next ten years as an Electronics Technician First Class (ET1) and cryptographic technician—diagnosing, repairing, and, above all, protecting the communications and equipment a mission depended on. Long before “cybersecurity” became a boardroom conversation, John was already living it, and that discipline still drives how he works today.
After leaving the service, John earned a BA in Economics from the University of Maryland, College Park, pairing his technical foundation with a sharp understanding of how businesses actually run. He went on to serve as a Systems Analyst at a public utility consulting firm; as a Systems Administrator at an engineering firm specializing in electromagnetic interference—work closely tied to signal integrity and information assurance; and as a Project Manager at an IT consulting firm focused on relational database development and deployment. Through each role, one thread held: build and maintain systems that businesses can trust.
In 1987, John brought that experience home to the Upstate and founded King’s Computers in Spartanburg, one of the area’s earliest dedicated technology firms. Two decades later, in 2007, he partnered with Sean Warren to launch Beowulf Technologies. Today, as cyber threats grow more sophisticated and relentless, the same discipline he first learned safeguarding Navy communications is what he brings to every client—helping organizations across the Carolinas get more from the technology they rely on, and keep it secure in an era when the stakes have never been higher.
Sarah Wyatt, Office Manager
Sarah has been the trusted face — and voice — of Beowulf since 2012. Her genuine dedication to client care is one of the reasons so many businesses have maintained long-standing relationships with the company. She takes personal ownership of every service call, ensuring timely responses, consistent communication, and an experience that leaves customers confident they’re in good hands.
She and her husband are blessed with two beautiful, talented daughters – both of whom have inherited her drive and passion for making a difference. She is an active member of Hope Church and finds fulfillment in encouraging the people around her each and every day. When she’s not at work, you’ll likely find her outdoors, whether she’s tending to her garden, casting a line, or exploring the beauty of a local state park.
Wesley (Wes) Millwood, Account & Project Manager
With 27 years in the IT industry, Wes brings a wealth of experience and a straightforward philosophy to every customer relationship. Treat people the way you’d want to be treated yourself. It sounds simple, but in an industry that can sometimes feel impersonal and overly technical, that approach makes all the difference.
As Account and Project Manager, Wes works closely with customers to make sure they have the right solutions in place for their needs, conducts regular business reviews to keep technology aligned with business goals, and is never far away when a question or concern needs to be addressed. Building genuine, long-term relationships with customers isn’t just part of the job. It’s the part he values most.
Outside of work, Wes is a proud family man and a brand new grandpa, a role he’s already decided might be his best one yet. When he’s not keeping customers happy, you’ll find him juggling more hobbies than he probably should.
